Fifth-Wheel or Bumper Pull?

For many Rv'ers, this quiz, is a burning issue. For others, it isn't even on the horizon. It all depends on what kind of Rv you're in and what you'd like to move into.

For example, I've been towing trip trailers for any years. What is my next Rv going to be? I'm planning to get a fifth-wheel toy hauler. Why? I want the toy hauler for the flexibility in the ways I can use it. I want the fifth-wheel version because of the floor plans which are not available in the bumper pulls. But, that's just me. This article is about what you want.

About A Boy Trailer Best Buy

By the way, the visible terms you'll hear can be confusing. A fifth-wheel is a fifth-wheel. That's what population call it. On the other hand, there isn't one standardized term for the others. You'll hear population refer to them as, "travel trailers," "bumper pulls," "tow-types" or a few other terms. For the sake of this article, I'll use the term, "bumper pull" because it best describes the hitch location.

Now that we understand the terms, let's look at the basic differences in the middle of the two. The most distinct divergence is where the trailer is hooked up to the tow vehicle. The hitch for the bumper pull is, of course, settled at or near the rear bumper of the tow vehicle. The fifth-wheel hitch is settled in the truck bed over the rear axle.

The first thing that becomes apparent is that you won't be using a car to tow a fifth-wheel trailer. The location of that hitch requires a truck. The bumper pull trailer can be towed by either a car or a truck.

There's an additional one factor about the fifth-wheel trailer that requires that a truck be used as a tow vehicle. The manufacture of the fifth-wheel frame is such that it tends to be heavier than that required for a bumper pull trailer. That further weight needs the strength only a truck can provide.

So, why do population pick one over the other? One calculate is the size of the unit. The longer a trailer is, the more likely it is to be designed as a fifth-wheel. The smaller it is, the more likely it is to be a bumper pull design.

The main issue here is the stability of the trailer when it's being towed. The pivot point (the hitch) of a bumper pull trailer is a few feet behind the axle of the tow vehicle. This can cause the trailer to exert leverage on the truck. The longer units need a good anti-sway hitch to keep the truck and trailer under operate if you're hit with side winds.

The pivot point for the fifth-wheel hitch is over the axle of the truck. There's no way the trailer can exert leverage on the truck if a gust of wind hits it. That is the main calculate why the longer trailers tend to be fifth-wheel units.

Another factor in the choice is the cost. The fifth-wheel units tend to be more expensive than a bumper pull trailer of the same size. That's why most of the smaller, less-expensive units are bumper pull's. They're lighter and less expensive to produce.

There's a huge divergence in the number of living space you get for every foot of space the trailer takes up on the road or in the camp ground. A bumper pull trailer that is 30 feet long will give you about 25-26 feet of living space. The rest of the length is the tongue sticking out in front of the trailer. As for widespread length of the truck and trailer, that whole 30 feet is added to the length of the truck.

A fifth-wheel uses the length more efficiently. A 30-foot fifth-wheel will, in most cases, give you about 30 feet of living space. Because the hitch is over the rear axle of the truck, the number of trailer hanging out behind the truck will be more like 24-25 feet. The combined length of the truck and trailer will be 8-10 feet shorter for the same number of living space.

Most of the fifth-wheel trailers wish at least a 3/4-ton truck as a tow vehicle. Most of the bumper pull's can be handled safely by a 1/2-ton truck. The main calculate for that is the number of weight settled on the hitch.

Most of the bumper pull trailers are designed to put about 10% of the total weight on the hitch ball. Putting that much weight on a hitch 3-4 feet behind the axle works as a lever to lift the front of the truck. A good weight equalization hitch becomes extremely foremost as the size of the trailer moves into the medium or large sizes.

The fifth-wheel trailer is designed to put about 15% of the total weight onto the hitch pin which is over the truck axle. That number of weight, by itself, requires a heavier-duty truck.

So, where does that leave you? If you already have a 3/4-ton truck or larger, your choices are pretty wide open. It comes down to which floor plan and price range work best for you.

If, on the other hand, you have a car or a small pickup truck, you're pretty much wee to a smaller bumper pull trailer. Most of the cars and small pickups are wee to trailers weighing 3,500 pounds or less. Trailers that light aren't going to offer a lot in the way of vertebrate comforts. At the same time, they do offer an inexpensive entry point into the fantastic world of Rv travel.

It all comes down to where you are and where you want to be in the grand project of things. The tow car will dictate the size and style of trailer you are able to safely pull. If you want to pull something bigger, you'll need to upgrade your tow vehicle.

The other main factor is, of course, your budget. It's true that you can save a lot of money on your vacation trip if you trip light with a tent or, even, a pop-up tent trailer. Because hotel and cafeteria costs can add up pretty fast, camping can be a real bargain.

However, there comes a point where you're no longer camping to save money. You're camping because you authentically enjoy the Rv lifestyle. Let's face it, a new 3/4-ton truck with a matching fifth-wheel trailer can authentically arrival ,000 - 0,000! You can't camp sufficient to save that much money!

So, as for the quiz, of fifth-wheel vs. Bumper pull, the bottom line is this: how much are you willing to spend? Most of the bumper pull units are at the low end to the mid-point of the scale. Most of the fifth-wheel units will start from the mid-point and range up through the high end of that same scale.

Where are you and where do you want to be?

How to Buy a Food Concession Trailer

Have you ever advanced a craving for carnival food? You know, that delicious food which includes corn dogs, cotton candy and funnel cakes. If you like the foods sold mostly at county and state fairs then you are not alone. Millions of people love this food and you can make big money by selling it to them. The first step to selling carnival food is you will need to purchase a concession stand or a food concession trailer.

There are all different types and sizes of food concession trailers including everything from stationary concession stands to movable catering trucks. You must first settle on the type and size food concession which will serve your needs. This will in part be dependent upon the type of food goods that you will be selling. Whatever types of food you sell, the trailers may come with refrigerators, freezers, ovens, fryers and sinks. go for a food goods which you will be comfortable working with because you will be spending a lot of time in the food trailer. If you do not like working colse to hot oil then do not consider French fries, fried dough or Whatever which requires a fryer. Choose a food, beverage or snack goods which has a nice mark up and the inherent for creating a profitable business.

About A Boy Trailer Best Buy

Should you buy it new or used? This is a big question. As you know, beginning a new firm investment is expensive. You want to cut corners wherever you can and purchasing a used concession trailer is an easy way to save thousands of dollars. One of the pitfalls of buying a used food trailer is that it will either have no warranty or a very minute one. New trailers, like a new car, comes with a warranty normally based on a time duration of a year or more. Some vendors of new trailers offer financing and the appliances of a new trailers come with their own installation warranties.

How to Buy a Food Concession Trailer

You can have your trailer customized. The customization could naturally be the way the outside is painted, including the descriptive designs, awnings and skirts or interior customizing which includes the flooring and other fixtures . Once again, it is a lot less costly to get a proper concession trailer rather than a customized one. However, you may want to think about how a customized outside can truly set you apart from your competition. It is a dreadful way to advertise your firm too when pulling the trailer along the highways that you travel. It could very well be worth the extra money to customize the trailer's exterior.

When buying a trailer, you can go directly to the builder for a new one but I propose buying them at a discount. Do not overlook auctions for looking concession trailers for sale. You might be able to pick up a new or used concession trailers at online auction sites and government repossession auctions. All the time be rigorous to contemplate (where possible) or ask all of your questions prior to placing your bid. Make sure that you are buying from a reputable person who has feedback above 95 percent positive. Most auctions sell the trailers as is, which means that you cannot get your money back if the trailer is not what you idea it was. Questions to ask are; how old is it?...How much use did it have? What was is used for? And how old are the appliances?

If you have All the time wanted be in your own firm and if you love carnival food, why not turn it into a profitable venture. Selecting the definite type of food goods and buying either a new or used concession trailer is the foundation for your victorious business. Paying a allowance price for your food concession will save you thousands of dollars, which can be used for food tool or customizing your trailer. Those tasty foods like funnel cakes not only put a lot of calories into you ideas but they put even more cash into your pocket.

Reflected in an additional one Pair of Eyes - An Encounter With a Fellow Rush Fan

While waiting in line recently to buy tickets at the Pittsburgh Mellon Arena for the upcoming Rush show at The New Consol energy Center, Lord, Don't ya just love Corporate America, with all of its Logo Feces, I met a young man named Adam who was brought down there by his father. His Dad's name was Aj; I naively assumed that Aj wanted to share his enthusiasm for the band with his immature son. Aj asked me, "Is this the line for Rush tickets?" I replied that yes it was. I told Aj that this will be my thirteenth Rush concert, and I asked him, "How many times have you seen the band"? He said, "This will be my first, where is the best place to sit?" I replied, "Well it depends upon the contact that you want, do you want to be up close or do you want the panorama?" Now I am a little baffled, "You've never been to a Rush concert?", I said. "No, He replied, "I've been to fullness of concerts, but never Rush, my son wants to see them." I asked his son, Adam, "Are you fourteen?" He said yes, he was 14, and he told me that the four songs of The Fear Trilogy "Witch Hunt", "The Weapon", "The Enemy Within", and "Freeze" were among his popular songs, along with the newer fare from Snakes and Arrows. I said, "I saw my first Rush concert here at this Arena when I was 14, The Hold Your Fire Tour in 1987." I then asked, "Are you a musician?" He replied that he was not. I said, "After this concert, you will be." Aj, his father, proceeded to tell me about his 10 year old daughter who was simultaneously studying to play the acoustic and the electric guitars. He asked, is this concert suitable for children, I said of course, it is a house show faultless with dolls, toy dinosaurs, and often cartoons. She will love it!

What is it about this band that continues to attract fans of all ages? How lucky I was to see the band at age 14 in 1987 after growing up with them from the age of four, for 10 years, listening to them on my brother's eight tracks and vinyl albums. How lucky this young man, Adam at age 14, is to see them 23 years later in the mp3 age. Man, do I feel old, and yet, every time the house lights go down and the music starts, my energy and youth is renewed all over again. I am 14 years old every time Rush hits the stage. For three hours I am suspended in the time warp of my youth, perhaps, that is why Rush entitled this tour The Time Machine.

About A Boy Trailer Best Buy

On the trailer for their new movie, Rush-Beyond the Lighted Stage, Alex and Geddy were asked, "What is your motivation to keep manufacture music?" Alex with his silly boy antics blurts out "Chicks!" It is true that chicks love Rush, but not for the usual reasons that bands attract women. These guys stimulate our minds which is an even best conjecture to love them. Not to mention Neil's athletic drummer physique, Alex's approved threads, stature and flirtatious sense of humor, and Geddy's endless source of energy, not to mention those tight jeans. Intelligence, talent, and looks, yes guys, you are hot and chicks dig you! My interrogate to Alex and Geddy would be, you started this band when you were 14, are you 14 years old every time you play on that stage? Maybe that is the true motivation as to why Rush continues to be a work in progress, They are always in the process of creating while maintaining the original idea of "A Promising Canadian Trio", As the Pittsburgh Press stated in their divulge dated August 15, 1974 of the first time that Rush played the United States with Neil Peart occasion for Uriah Heep and Manfred Mann the night before, at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena, which by the way is now known as the aforementioned Mellon Arenawhich will soon be windup as the New Consol energy town across the road opens, and so Rush in essence will come full circle, after many years of playing at the outdoor Starlake Amphitheater in Burgettstown Pa, Which is now known as The First Niagara Pavilion and was The Post Gazette pavilion, and believe it or not, The Post Gazette was formally known as the aforementioned Pittsburgh Press, Lord Help Us All...Anyway...Rush will return to Pittsburgh to play the new Consol energy town on September 16, 2010, anda s all of the Corporate Logo Feces fade away into the background, I go back in The Time motor and go Beyond the Lighted Stage.

Nutri Health, A Radical solution

For horses, pets, and citizen food and preventative condition have never been more prominent than today. Fantasize 100 horses in a herd exposed to influenza, some will get sick and some won't-why? Fantasize 100 citizen exposed to anthrax, some will get sick, some won't-why? I know it is scary to think about whether situation, but similar scenarios are literally occurring right now in each of our bodies. The battle is condition versus sickness. This battle never stops. It is permanently raging and we are the effect of it. Or could we literally be the cause of it? If all things were well and extraordinary daily then I Fantasize we would be well and extraordinary but I think that it goes without saying that that is impossible!

Stress is a major cause of illness but how does this describe to our horses? First let's define a working definition of stress. My way to describe stress, right or wrong, is "being the effect of something or man you feel you have no operate over". Anyone stressed lately? Unfortunately for our equine friends stress is a part of life. Showing, trailering, training, breeding, it seems there is all the time stress in horses' lives. But, since they Are at the effect of us it is our accountability to keep them "less stressed" lest they will get sick. Let's face it, though, we can't quit showing , performing, trailing and breeding etc. Etc. I guess some of us could just be expert petters, myself included, but these guys literally prefer to work right? Probably just retention them in a stall and not letting them achieve or work is the most major stress of all. So with reason let's assume we keep going about our normal business. But are there other ways we stress our horses though without knowing it?

About A Boy Trailer Best Buy

I literally think that we inadvertently stress our animals everyday, and the bad thing is we do so with the best of intentions. Take vaccinations for instance, are they literally that important? Most folks in the "real world" would argue Yes, but I have to ask myself, could the cure be worse than the disease, especially if the disease is very, very rare? And what if the disease were treatable anyway and what if I could prevent it with good food including antioxidants? What longterm effects could these vaccinations have? I ask these seemingly ridiculous questions because I think our horses have changed for the worse since my 21 years in practice. I believe they are weaker today, less defiant than in the early 80's and just seem to have much more cancer, colic, founder, pulmonary disease, allergies etc. So I question: What Has Changed? A good example of this convert is Epm. Why after million of years does the horse suddenly have a problem with possum manure? I don't claim to have the answers to this but I have some theories.

Nutri Health, A Radical solution

Certainly we do vaccinate much more than when I first started practice. We didn't even vaccinate for rabies then, but then one or two horse came down with it and whammo ... Millions vaccinated. The same was true for Encephalitis and Strangles and now West Nile and even Epm, with provisional vaccines, no less, that may or may not even work when all the facts are gathered. Have you ever vaccinated a horse for influenza and it later came down with it? How about vaccinated for Strangles and in a few short weeks it was leaking pus all over the barn? How about, heaven forbid, Rhino and the mares later aborted. I have - fullness of times. In fact, so much so that now I don't vaccinate at all. We have about 30 Rocky Mountain Horses and we are vaccine free for almost four years now - and we very seldom get sick horses. No more abortions after horse show exposure. No more strangles, knock on wood! Our horses are just healthier!

Another thing I don't do is deworm every 2-3 months.. Foreign substances like deworming chemicals and vaccinations just confuse the bodies' medical mechanisms to where it has no clue what is supposed to be part of the body and what is not. It seems to just start reacting to everything. Take for instance the allergy tests on those horses with hives. Every one of them I have seen the results on seem to come back allergic to everything. Like hay, grass, dust etc. - you know, those things you can't keep horses away from anyway. The best you can do in most of these cases is wet the hay right? anything have a horse sensitive to flies? Come on, horses are supposed to live with flies not break out in sores and hives. What has changed? The talk to deworming, by the way, is to naturally check to see if they even have worms before deworming. All horse don't have worms - we check hundreds of samples in our office. True all horses are exposed to worms but guess what? Some Are Resistant, or so it seems! In my early years of practice we used to all the time check first with a fecal sample because we had to pass that nose tube and that was potentially risky business. That was a "known" risk, I believe an unknown risk is even worse. Could it be that overzealous use of pastes could be just as risky? Worse yet are daily dewormers! I have no doubt that some day we will have super worms that are defiant to everything! Daily dewormers are not helping. Paying for a colic surgical operation is a great marketing stategy, especially if it keeps you using drugs and chemicals, isn't it? I know I am stepping on toes here but it may be time to reevaluate. This is tough when one has blinders on and just follows the norm without question. I understand and I could be completely wrong, But....Understand too, that I used to make my living as a "conventional" veterinarian using vaccinations, steroids, antibiotics and other such disposition stuff. How could I have made such a drastic change?

Thank goodness mainstream is now changing too! For example, small animal practitioners are being advised to no longer vaccinate just by the "calendar", ie yearly, but to think the personel needs and actual likelihood of exposure. True, this is very controversial, but a real step in the right direction. Such recommendations will be forthcoming for equines as well, but my concern is that all the fear about the "new diseases" will greatly hinder this coming. A major equine publication just last year quoted "Looming Disaster with Our Current Deworming Practices" siting such concerns as chemical toxicity and the resistance factor I already mentioned. But then an additional one major equine magazine said Garlic was potentially toxic because they didn't know the inequity between an onion and garlic! So go figure! lowest line is, it is our responsibility, not the industry's in general, to do what is right for our horse. Every person has their own agenda. In the later Garlic article, by the way, if you questioned it, you were referred you to a major university toxicology hotline. It cost $ 45 for a consultation. While you waited for the veterinarian, the recording attempted to sell you a book on Natural Toxins in horses. I paid the for a search on garlic toxicity - never had they had a reported case, plus, with All their study material at hand, they could not find one substantiated reference to garlic toxicity -Onions yes (5 pounds), Garlic No! For your listening pleasure, my recorded conversation can be heard on our website http://www.thenaturalhorsevet.net. The was worth it and it did go to a good cause I am sure, but I didn't buy the book. I apologize for being so sarcastic here but Horse and Rider just blew that one in my opinion. Such a shame for such a good magazine!

So we have talked about vaccinations and deworming - what about these "non toxic" chemicals? You know the kind for flies and such, that you, too, breathe each time you spray them or spot them on. Sure these substances are "nontoxic" but what about subtoxic? After all, "toxic" is the amount of the chemical or substance that is needed to kill an animal or person. What about the subtoxic effects that might growth viral and bacterial infections by weakening the immune law "function", ie lowering the white blood cell count, slowing white blood cell movement, destroying the mechanisms the white blood cells use to find and destroy virus and bacterial cells, etc. What about lowering yield of the considerable immune law regulator interferon or weakening or damaging antibody production? One such chemical on the shop today is 65% permethrin. You can't use any amount on you and you sure can't use malathion, lindane or even furacin - that yellow stuff for wounds - but it is Ok for equines! By the way, Please read the label on furacin - it has carcinogenic warnings all over it. Again, I used to use it by the gallons. So please understand I am not being critical, I guess I am just trying desperately to spread the message that "if there is an alternative, find it and use it". And if you can't find it .... Keep looking! Please .. We as practitioners don't heal anything, none of us do, the best we can do is trigger the body to heal itself. It is as easy as that! The problem with so many drugs and chemicals is that they so badly confuse the bodies' medical by taking over, leaving only an additional one problem to deal with from the compounding effect of Never having been healed in the first place. I hope this makes sense and I hope you will help me keep looking.

Diets that we feed our horses are an additional one major factor in preventative health. Our horses did not eat grain in the wild, especially so much corn. Why do we have to add so much molasses to their feeds? possibly because they don't like the feed? Or is it because it is literally not good for them? Corn, for instance, has the same glycemic index as sugar. In other words, a tablespoon of corn has the same effect as a tablespoon of sugar. Molasses essentially is a sugar. Just Fantasize the blood glucose rising after the first meal of the day. Now Fantasize the blood sugar crashing to a low level. Herein lies the problem- a sugar low equals "starving" to the horses' metabolism. The metabolic law does all it can to get the blood glucose back up. The pancreas, adrenals, thyroid, all kick in. These glands literally are worn out by the vicious cycle day after day of high and low sugar levels. Fantasize request your horse to act while on a sugar low. This is probably the amount one cause of moody and hyper horses. I also believe this daily metabolic stress is the reason we have so much founder and colic today. Even when a minor stress comes along they have no reserves left, because of the weekend adrenals and thyroid. The weak links are the gut and the feet, hence colic or founder. This same scenario even happens to dogs and cats. Have you seen the amount of corn in pet foods lately? Based on the amount of doughnut shops, bagel shops and high fructose soda pop machines around, a lot of citizen are destroying their "stess resistance" with carbohydrates and sugar, too. The talk for citizen is 25 grams of protein first thing in the morning with fresh flax oil or virgin olive oil (two tablespoons). The talk for horses is a good oil top dressed on the grain which slows the absorption on the grain and prevents the high spiking sugar levels in the first place. I don't use flax oil in horses only because I find it difficult to verbalize the freshness. Rancid or spoiled oil is worse. And heaven forbid if you know anything using corn oil, alias syrup, please suggest they stop! For horses I prefer a aggregate of soybean and coconut oil. Our brand is called H2Oil, Hoof and condition Oil. Despite what you read in the press, coconut is both good for both man and beast. My popular grain to top dress it on is oats.

What else can we do to tip the scale to the side of wellness? Use antioxidants! They are the scavengers of sickness, the buzzards that clean up all the messes in our bodies; the rustolium that prevents the rust in the first place, or best yet that which stops the rust dead in its tracks! The rust, or oxidation, is what turns the apple brown when you cut it in half. It is oxygen gone bad, free radicals bombarding all things it finds. lowest line, if you want your animal friends to live longer and healthier lives, give antioxidants daily and take them yourself. It's already been proven that antioxidants are beneficial. It has been since the 60's. Every day our animal friends, as well as ourselves, are bombarded with pollutants. We eat them. We drink them. We breathe them. Even horse feed (not to mention our food) has pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, hormones, etc. In it! Water has chlorine, trihalomethanes, alum, lime, and potassium permanganates just to name a few! My goodness, just smell the air as you voyage down the polluted highway. I believe you get my "drift!"

If I only had one thing that I could do to help tip the scale to wellness it would have to be to use the antioxidant and natural "antibiotic" Garlic. It is an awesome antioxidant, a great source of sulfur for the body and a great bug powder when mixed with the a few other ingredients. Sulfur is one of the most basic substances needed to rejuvenate tissue. Do you know that at one time garlic was used successfully to prevent polio? It was also found to be a more potent antibiotic than penicillin, ampicillin, doxycyline, streptomycin, and cephalexin- some of the very same drugs used to treat Anthrax. It was even productive against some strains of E. Coli, staph and other micro organisms. [Fitoterapia Vol 5, 1984] Other sulfur-bearing antioxidants, Alpha lipoic acid, N-acetyl Cysteine, Taurine, and Vitamin C have been shown to elevate levels of Glutathione. This, too, is a potent antioxidant and also has been shown to counter the toxicity produced by antrax.[Molecular Medicine, November 1994; Immunopharmacology, January2000; Applied Environmental Microbiology, August 1979; Bill Sardi, Knowledge of Health]. And don't forget Grapeseed Extract, one of the most potent antioxidants known to man..

Well, I guess if you are still reading this you are whether ready to shoot me, you are saying, "yea", or maybe "boy, that guy is nuts!" Regardless, I ask you one more thing... If you are not customary with homeopathy, I suggest you please check it out. It, in it's truest form, is the talk to our situation today. And yes, there are even remedies for symptoms of anthrax, smallpox, radiation exposure, plague, etc. Though there are new strains now the symptoms these diseases furnish are nothing new. They were here last century and often treated successfully with homeopathic remedies, even then. I for one won't be lining up for vaccination - but I will be doing all things I can to help my body help itself. The correctly chosen homeopathic remedy naturally triggers the body to do just that - heal itself. But it goes without saying that all medical depends upon good nutrition. If the body doesn't have the food it needs, it is like a car without the gas, it naturally won't run. What do you say... Let's keep running! See you at the races! Hope this helps!

Children of Invention

Children of Invention Video Clips. Duration : 85.82 Mins.

One of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film," writer-director Tze Chun makes "a fine feature debut" (Manohla Dargis, New York Times) with one of the most-awarded and best-reviewed films of the year. CHILDREN OF INVENTION is by turns humorous and heartbreaking, an "urgent, artful...austerely poetic" (Variety) "edge-of-your-seat family drama" (Spout) that's both "powerfully moving and rigorously intelligent."(Boston Phoenix). SYNOPSIS: Two young children living outside Boston come up with a plan to take care of themselves when their mother gets embroiled in a pyramid scheme and disappears.
